Work Study Program
The Work Study Program provided by the Portage County Educational Service Center gives Special Education students an opportunity to earn work experience and elective high school credit on an after school, weekend or summer job. Students must be sixteen years old and junior status is recommended. The student's Individual Education Program team decides the specific characteristics of the program based on each child's individual needs and interests. The program is designed to enhance the student's academic experiences with transitional skills like finding a job, applications, working to keep your job, budgeting time and money, finding reliable transportation and record keeping.
In future articles, student demographics will be shared as well as recognition of the employers who work with us and make a difference in each student's life.
